📍 Day 1: Dharamkot / Kareri Village ➝ Rioti ➝ Kareri Lake Base Camp


  1. Start Point: Kareri Village (Drive from Dharamshala or McLeod Ganj - ~1.5 hrs)
  2. Trek Distance: ~12 km
  3. Altitude Gain: ~6,500 ft to ~9,500 ft
  4. Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
  5. Route Overview:
  6. Begin the trek from Kareri village after breakfast
  7. Cross beautiful pine forests and streams
  8. En route Rioti, trek alongside the Nyund stream and wooden bridges
  9. Final stretch to Kareri Lake involves moderate ascent over rocky terrain
  10. Highlights:
  11. Lush oak, pine, and rhododendron forests
  12. Scenic alpine lake with reflections of the Dhauladhar range
  13. Night stay in tents near the lake under starry skies
  14. Meals Included:

📍 Day 2: Kareri Lake ➝ Kareri Village ➝ Departure

  4. After early breakfast, descend back to Kareri village
  5. Quick breaks at Rioti for refreshments
  6. Drive back to McLeod Ganj or Dharamshala by afternoon
  7. Highlights:
  8. Sunrise at Kareri Lake
  9. Peaceful return walk through lush forest trails
  10. Refreshments at Rioti on the way down
  11. Meals Included:
  12. Morning tea & breakfast
