📍 Day 1: Dharamkot / Kareri Village ➝ Rioti ➝ Kareri Lake Base Camp
- Start Point: Kareri Village (Drive from Dharamshala or McLeod Ganj - ~1.5 hrs)
- Trek Distance: ~12 km
- Altitude Gain: ~6,500 ft to ~9,500 ft
- Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
- Route Overview:
- Begin the trek from Kareri village after breakfast
- Cross beautiful pine forests and streams
- En route Rioti, trek alongside the Nyund stream and wooden bridges
- Final stretch to Kareri Lake involves moderate ascent over rocky terrain
- Highlights:
- Lush oak, pine, and rhododendron forests
- Scenic alpine lake with reflections of the Dhauladhar range
- Night stay in tents near the lake under starry skies

- After early breakfast, descend back to Kareri village
- Quick breaks at Rioti for refreshments
- Drive back to McLeod Ganj or Dharamshala by afternoon
- Highlights:
- Sunrise at Kareri Lake
- Peaceful return walk through lush forest trails
- Refreshments at Rioti on the way down
